Overview:
The Makersville Services Micropreneurship program supports teen entrepreneurs in turning their
ideas into practical, marketable products. By providing a robust scaffold of support, we help teens
and their supporters navigate the journey from concept to execution.
***Key Elements:

  1. Idea Development:
  • Facilitate discussions to refine and advance business ideas.
  • Provide guidance on transforming concepts into viable products.
  1. Resources and Tools:
  • Offer access to materials, equipment, space, and tools needed for project development.
  • Example: High school students used our equipment to create and sell T-shirts to friends, family,
    and other youth.
  1. Funding and Management:
  • Educate teens on grant writing and project management to secure funding for their ventures.
  • Inform them about various funding opportunities and how to apply for them.
  1. Mentorship:
  • Connect teens with mentors who offer specific support and expertise.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to help teens overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  1. Community Engagement:
Host events that showcase and utilize the products created by our micropreneurs.
    • Participate in community events where teens can sell their products and gain exposure.
    • Teens Teach Tech:
    • Teams offer hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentorship sessions, virtual sessions, and
community events covering various digital skills, ranging from basic computer literacy to internet
    safety.
    • Connected Nation provides engaging, accessible resources tailored to community needs.
    • Participating promotes social skills, empathy, and connections across different ages and

backgrounds.
• Teens gain confidence, guide and support others, and develop new skills, which can be
highlighted on college applications and resumes.
• Engaging in community service meets scholarship requirements.
• Teens work in teams to organize and execute training sessions, fostering teamwork,
compromise, and collective achievement.

  1. Skill Development:
  • Encourage teens to learn new skills and share their knowledge with others.
  • Support their growth as they start their first micro business.
    Outcome:
The Micro-preneurs program aims to equip teens with the skills, resources, and confidence needed
to launch their own micro businesses. By fostering a supportive community and providing practical
tools, we empower the next generation of entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to life.
